Dinner: A New Perspective.

When we walked all around Morgan States campus the main area that stuck with me was the library which had 2 or 3 stories and was humongous. We saw the statue of Frederick Douglas which who was an abolitionist. I learned Morgan played a big role in the civil rights in 1947. They provided important national leadership to the civil rights movement including, the first mass demonstration for equal education funding, the first successful sit in campaign and the first march to Washington for civil rights.

We were toured by two young women and they seemed like they enjoyed the school. One was from DC and the other was from Oakland. The tour guide from Oakland said that getting used to the all people in college was a big deal for her. We finished up our tour and headed back to the hotel.

Then , we made our way to nandos and we waited for about 20 minutes.

I came out of my comfort zone and didn’t eat fries , instead I had rice, mash potatoes, chicken wings, and salad. We shared the moment with students from Howard and graduates too. We discussed about certain struggles and things to do in college. The main thing I took from the dinner was to stay on top of your work and to take advantage of connections! As we drove to the MLK monument we saw the State Capital building, and the Smithsonian both lit up and big. We got out and seen the huge MLK monument, it was crazy to see the crowd of people who came to see it. All the people crowded to see this one monument made me think of unity cause if we can all come together to see this I believed it should be the same for other things too.
