A New Career Option. NY ’19

Today we went to the NBPA, The National Basketball Players Association. We spoke with Sherrie Dean about the interactions between the women of the NBPA and the male basketball players. I don’t know if this is a profession I would consider, since my interest in sports is very limited, but I thought it was very cool how women of color ran a male dominated industry. What was helpful was her advice on maintaining the ability to write. I was also excited to see my abilities in this profession, although it doesn’t go with the stereotype of typical jocks.

After that we heard the flight got cancelled, so we decided to stay in New York another night. This was worrying but I was happy at the same time. I get to spend another day in New York. After settling into the hotel and alerting all the parents, we set out to get some sandwiches. It was good, I got the Philly cheese steak, excluding the BBQ sauce. We then ate at an underground market, everything was great. We got Boba Milk Tea, and sat down to eat. We shared some laughs. After that, we went to Central Park. Me and Erin had a swing competition, I won of course, but she won’t admit that. We then went to the baseball court.

We did this fun piggy back game where we stack ourselves into each other. Overall, it was a stress free day, excluding the shock of our cancelled flight. Thank you to southwest for making this possible and fun. We wouldn’t fly any other way. We live your trips, and we really are grateful!
